What's up,
This week has been good! No crazy
stories but just some simple miracles that really motivate me and give me the
strength to continue on with this wonderful work! I love it! I love being a
missionary and every day I realize more and more that England is where I am
suppose to be, even though sometimes it rains all the time every day all day long
haha.

Goodbye Bedford |
So we didn't have many lessons this week
except for with our good friend M! He is a great guy! He has been to
church for almost 16 weeks in a row from when Elder F and I first visited
him! He tells us that we have sparked something that he felt when he first was baptized
almost 50 years ago! I really have felt that I was sent to Bedford to help M and he really is a great friend and I will never forget him. We have had some
great laughs but also some very powerful spiritual lessons.
Well next we had a lesson with K. I
may not have told you about him, he really is a
super nice man. He is a huge black man who was a preacher at the Pentecostal
church haha. He loves learning about
Jesus Christ. And he loves the Mormons he says haha. He tells me that he is
coming to salt lake one day to visit the family and bishop Parkin haha. He's a
good guy. We also saw W this week. Nothing new. We are really struggling to
help him progress. It will happen one day. I know it. We stopped by this
referral that we got from the office haha we were totally stoked! This women
seemed super interested and she wanted a Book of Mormon and pamphlets and
everything! I was like
skipping down the street I was so stoked. We showed up, rang the door bell and
she didn't answer! When we were walking away I saw her hiding in the window! I
was so ticked haha! I went and rang the door bell again and she just kept
hiding like I couldn't see her. Wow it was frustrating. I wanted to sound like
the beard guy from Walter Mitty, "hey! Hey! I see you! I see you!"
That's how I felt haha.
Well now for a cool miracle. We were
walking down town centre in the pouring English rain. We were doing a mission
finding time all together for an hour and a half. It had been an hour and a
half and we hadn't talked to one person. We were heading back to the flat but I
decided that we wouldn't go back until we found someone haha, so we stopped
this women and asked what she was looking forward to in the new year. She said
she was looking forward to happiness and peace! Bam! There was our chance! We
totally testified to her that the message we had to share would bring her peace
and happiness! She got super excited! We are set up an appointment for Thursday
with her and her niece! It made me really happy! The Lord blessed us as we
exercised our faith and just grinded it out!
Learning to use the crockpot! |
So on Saturday we had a "ward New
Years walk" in some park in Bedford. I was pretty excited to just get out
and walk because I never walk during the rest of my day. (That's a joke, I walk
everywhere and ride everywhere) but it really was fun to just be with the ward.
But half way through the walk the trail went to straight mud! Like 4 inches
deep in mud and I was wearing proselyting clothes. I was covered in mud by the
end of the walk haha but it was a good experience I guess.
We helped a women move all her furniture
from her flat to a little barn. It was nice to do some service. She gave us
tons of shampoos, and bathroom stuff so I was stoked haha. But that's
basically my week.
Lords Hand
I saw the lords hand this week in the
women and her niece that we found. The Lord really does like to test our faith
and when we hold fast, he blesses us and he is bound to bless us! I have also
seen the lords hand in keeping Will safe. It could have been worse. And I know
he will be okay. I love you Will dog! Just keep chugging like Sam would say.
Find the good in the hardest things. You're a stud. You're the toughest Parkin
by far. But I'll still beat you down when I get home haha, love you bro!
I love you guys! Have a great week. I'm
praying and thinking about you.
NO SHORT CUTS

don't be an idiot and find the good" -Matt Parkin
(That was on Sams blog a while ago haha.
Love you dad and all your advice)

HEADING TO LONDON.......
Oh and I am headed to London to serve in
the YSA ward at Hyde Park!!! I'm sad to leave Bedford. I really have grown to
love it so much here. But I am excited to get to London. We are white washing
so I have no idea what I'm doing at all...I guess it'll all work out. Just need
to put the head down and grind it out. Just like those 20 lawn days in the heat
haha. I'm grateful for those days and the work ethic I have. I love working
hard! It's seriously the best! Love you guys.
