December 25, 2015

Christmas morning Jacob and his companion were asked to lunch by a single, older women. Because they couldn't be inside alone with her, she prepared a wonderful bowl of tomato soup and the elders ate in the garden, while she stayed inside.  It made me so happy as a mom to know he was well taken care of on Christmas!
Well this week has been pretty good. I'm so excited to talk, like I cannot even see straight. This week has been really rough finding people though. It has honestly felt like we are surviving until Christmas because no one wants to talk bin town. By the way, town is insane! It's jam packed with people shopping and running around trying to get to all the shops and if you try and stop someone you'll get trampled unto foot like Korihor haha. So we have been trying to talk to people on the outskirts of town but it's still busy and chaotic. Which is hard. But we are finally at Christmas! It's so crazy that its actually here. It seems so long ago since I left home to be honest.

Bedford pyramid?

Well since I couldn't email on Monday, last week was pretty good! O was questioning his baptismal date and we had a really powerful testimony meeting with him and I haven't felt the spirit stronger on my mission. It was very powerful and he was totally good to go and super excited but now his dad won't sign the form. And his baptism is on Sunday. We decided to fast on Tuesday for O and his dad. After breaking our fast, we got a call from the zone leaders saying that in the UK if you are under 18 you can sign any type of religious paper which was a total miracle! We aren't going to pressure O into anything, because we feel that he should have at least some support from his parents, but if push comes to shove he can sign his paper. It was powerful to see how much fasting and prayer works.

Well nothing else really happened except D had is interview and passed!!! Ah we are sooooo excited! He asked me if I would do the baptismal ordinance! I'm pretty nervous and he is a huge guy! He is originally from Ghana, and we can't find baptismal clothes big enough for him. He's a 44 waist size haha. So we are looking everywhere. I hope I will be strong enough to hold him up. I know the Lord will help me.

THE SUN!!!!

The sun finally came out the last few days! It's been a Christmas miracle. It's been different though. to just be with one other person on Christmas. I love being able to just focus on the Savior and his birth and the gift he has given us. But I will miss being with the family this Christmas. But I think this will be the first Christmas that I really actually focus on the Savior and I think that is special.

Oh so transfers are on Tuesday! It was only a 5 week transfer which sucks. I hope I just stay in Bedford for 6 months. I don't really want to be leaving right after Christmas. But we will see.

Well I love you guys. I'll talk to you in a few hours haha! Ahhhhhhhh I am sooooo excited!  It will be the best ever! Love you guys!
No short cuts
Jacob
