Baptism of Tinkerbell

Tinker bell must be tiny...Jacob looks like a giant next to her and he's only 5'9"

So down to the best part of the week! It really has been such a miracle to see Tinkerbell get baptized!!!! So a few weeks ago we were really struggling as a zone. And we decided we would all fast together to see a baptism before the end of the month of May. And sure enough, the day of the fast we extended a baptismal date to Tinkerbell and she came to church every Sunday and really just clicked with everything we taught. She read the book of Mormon and just loves it so much. She really progressed so fast! It was amazing. She was so welcomed into the ward and it was amazing to see how everyone just loves her into the ward family and it seriously helped so Much! The baptism went well! The Parkin crew in London came and watched! It was so cool to have Jeremiah there especially because he was able to teach her with us when he came out. I hope that was something he won't forget. Because I won't. We had the BYU students in our ward do a musical number and it was amazing! Sunday was just a perfect day on the mission haha! That's the only way to describe it!

The rest of the week has been good! Honestly everything was focused on Tinkerbell because some crazy stuff went down with the interview and everything so Elder Tonks and I were running around with our heads cut off haha. But it was all worth her stress and worry in the end. It's going to be so amazing to see Tinkerbell raise her little boy named R in the gospel and it's just such a blessing. She was so beyond grateful. She really and truly changed her life a whole 180 degrees. She has had a pretty crazy past and she needed the gospel more than anything.

I hope that she can continue to stay in the ward and love the gospel and continue to grow in it. She is originally from Ireland and she is hilarious. She will fit into the ward perfectly!

The Lords Hand
I have seen the Lords Hand this week especially in Tinkerbell and fasting. It really was a miracle from fasting and I really know that fasting works. The Lord really helped Tinkerbell progress and realize how much she was loved. And that she really does have a Heavenly Father. It was a amazing!

I love you guys! Thanks for praying for Tinkerbell. She needed it! Have a great week and don't let will drive the car ever again haha. He's a threat to the community. Love you guys!

Teaching with Jeremiah

Jacob with his companion AND his cousin
Jeremiah
This week has been super quick and wonderful! So I'm sure you saw the pictures of Miah (cousin Jeremiah) and I! Hahaha we met up in he morning and he was out with us for almost the whole day! It was such a good time. He was a BEAST! Haha he was just stopping people on the streets and talking. It was an example to me. He was not scared at all! It was brilliant!! We actually talked to some super cool people. One of them was a Peruvian man who's whole family were members except for him, we had a really nice chat with him and we are hoping to see hi again! We then taught a few lessons with him as well. Overall it was just a good time. I hope it got him stoked for his mission because he is going to kill it out in the field. It's crazy that him and Luke might be gone when I get back. It kind of makes me sad!!

So we are teaching this woman named Tinker Bell! Yes Tinker Bell hahah. And she is so good. It's been a bit difficult because she is the only person we are really even teaching right now. So that has been tough. But Tinker bell is amazing. She has a little boy named R who is super cute. She is from Ireland but moved here a few years ago. She really loves the gospel and she has read to chapter 18 in the Book of Mormon in like 4 days! She loves it! Her baptismal date is for the 29th of May! So this Sunday! We are really really praying that she will make it! She has given up smoking just in one day after smoking since she was 11. WOW! So sick! She is so ready and excited for baptism it's so wonderful! She will totally be an asset to the ward. We are super super excited for her. So keep her in your prayers!

Nice Union Jack BENTLEY!!!

We went on exchanges the other day and I was with Elder Pasten from Chile! Haha he's from Santiago so not close to Sam at all but it was still a good time. We had tons of fun. Plus we went to this station called 7 sisters that is just loaded with Latinos/Latinas and we just went buck wild finding haha. He was just talking to everyone! I didn't understand one thing but we did get some phone numbers and return appointments so we were pumped about that! Sometimes I really wish I could speak Spanish. Well I wish I could speak like 100 languages because half the time no one speaks English here. But it's cool to see the Lord bless us with members from all over the world that can help us through the language barrier.

Lords Hand
I have seen the Lords hand this week in being able to teach and be with Jeremiah. I am grateful that president allowed it to happen. It helped me probably as much or more than Jeremiah. I'm so grateful that he is excited and looking forward to serve his mission. He will probably be the last cousin I see until I'm home haha. But who knows. Everyone comes to London. I have also seen the lords hand in helping me see the good when sometimes things don't go as planned. I am grateful for that and all the good I have in my life.

I love you guys so much! Keep Tinker Bell in your prayers! She needs it!

S'mores

I love you guys!

Third Cousin Sighting

P-Day at Westminster Abbey

Hello family!
This week has been pretty good! It's gone pretty fast! It was crazy to see all the missionaries go home last week! Some of them were my good buddies. Elder fisher is now back in Australia! Ifs crazy to think that 9 months ago he was training me up and now he's back home. I was super grateful for him and all the good times we had together. Time is just flying by out here. Sometimes it's crazy. Like the month just flies and I don't even realize. Last year at this time we had already had senior prom and we were about to graduate. It just blows my mind some days. Bens going to be a junior! Will a freshman! Gracie at
Clayton!!! Crazy!

This week has been good! We are really hoping to have 2 baptisms this Month. We are really working with Kingsley with his commitment. All he wants is to be baptized he just needs to come to church and really find his motivation. We also found this woman on the street who ended up telling us that she had met with missionaries and that she bailed the day she was suppose to be baptized. So it really has been a miracle that we found her and that she wants to meet! She is pretty old and she always loses her phone or gets a new one so its really hard to contact her and she is never home. We are just praying that we can see her and that she will come to church. She accepted a baptismal date for the 29th of May. She is way cool! We just need lots of miracles for everything to go as we want it to this week and the next. This transfer is only 5 weeks so a lot needs to happen! Especially because Elder Oaks is coming haha.

We are also teaching a family from Brazil who is super super awesome! They fathers name is Alex and he is so interested in the gospel. He wants to be baptized but his wife holds him back quite a bit. But he loves coming to church and we really hope he can be baptized this month as well. It will just take some effort on his part. His wife is supportive but he just needs to commit. He is super super awesome though!

Jacob and his cousin James

It was so good to see James. We went to lunch and just chatted for a while. It's crazy him and Anna are getting married in like 14 days. That seriously is crazy! All the Parkin cousins are getting married! But I’m super super excited for him. I really am so glad I got to see him. We walked into the VC the other Day and I saw all these guys at one of the exhibits. Wow they looked so American. And of course it was James. I saw roddy as well. It was super cool. It wasn't even planned. It's pretty crazy how many people you actually see here. London is
just a place where everyone wants to go. It's crazy! But it really is an amazing place. I will always love London haha. It never gets old. Momma you would love it so much!

The Lords Hand
The Lords Hand has been seen in my life this week in elder fisher and all that he taught me. It was sad to see him go. We really had so much fun together and I think he really helped me at the start of my mission. I am really grateful for that. The Lord placed us together because I needed elder fishers help.

Well that's basically my week. Not much else has happened. Keep Kingsley and Angela in your prayers. They really need them! I love you guys so much! Keep being the best of the best. Still can't believe schools almost out. I hope east lax is killing it!
Love you guys!

Week 37

Jacob's feet...emailing on the floor!!
Wellllll I can't believe we get to talk in a week!!!! I'm soooooo pumped! It's going to be the best. It's crazy that this is my second Skype already. Time seems to be flying out here. Maybe not back home haha but it is here. Sam is almost done and it sometimes freaks me out to be honest. It seems like just yesterday that we were at the airport sending him off to Mexico but then I realize we did the same thing for me. I hope all is well back home. School is almost over which is insane! There are a few more weeks in the lacrosse season, and it's almost summer. And lots of people are getting their calls. I swear I was at east like 3 months ago getting my call. I really have been kind of freaking out about is sometimes haha.

So this week has been pretty good!!!!! The zone had 3 baptisms this week which has been super super sick! Everyone was super prepared and ready for baptism so it has been such an awesome week! We have lost contact with a few of our really solid investigators which has been a bummer but we will find them haha. So I feel bad I haven't told you about one of our investigators the last few weeks but I will tell you now. Her name is V and she is 16. Elder Fisher found her in this area last summer before he trained me in Bedford. Anyways, she is super super good. She loves the gospel so much and she really has such powerful testimony. Her whole family is not too keen on the church and has read some things online and they will not let her be baptized until she is 18. We see her a few times a week and almost every night her mom either yells at her about the church or won't talk to her. But her testimony and faith don't waiver. It's been such an example to me. She will even cry in our lessons and express how hard it is but that she is willing to do all she can to keep coming to church and living the gospel. She talks about turning 18 and being baptised and serving a mission. She is such an example to all the missionaries. So keep her in your prayers. She's got a while until she is 18 but she really is so great.

Jacob's Zone

So the rest of the week has been good. We had two baptisms in our ward and it was great. We are in a 4 man flat and the other elders were super happy. One of them is from Norway who is training the other elder who is from Star Valley Wyoming. They are super awesome and we have such a good time. I love 4 man flats haha it's going to be strange leaving it one day.

Lords Hand
So I have seen the Lords Hand this week in our investigator V. She really has been an example to me of being so committed to the gospel even when our situations can conflict with our beliefs and standards. She will be an amazing missionary one day. I have also seen the Lords Hand in President and Sister Stevens. We had interviews this last week and they really do just love every single missionary so much. And I can really feel it. They were defiantly called here for a reason.

I love you guys so much! I miss you and I hope school comes to a finish very fast hahaha. It still blows my mind it's almost summer. Have a great week. Next time I hear from you will be on Mother's Day!!!!!!! SOOOO STOKED
